Latest News - Beaver 84 Secures Glastonbury

Beaver 84 supplied 56 kilometres of temporary security fencing for Glastonbury Festival 2009, which attracted over 170,000 music lovers.
One of the UK’s leading suppliers of non mechanical access equipment, Beaver 84 supplied over 16,000 temporary fencing panels which equates to over 56 kilometres. In addition, they supplied 3,600 crowd barriers, 30 six-metre alloy towers and one ten-metre fire tower, which allowed for 24-hour a day fire surveillance over Britain’s largest festival.
Bryan Coombs, Event Manager – Beaver 84 comments: “Large-scale music events such as Glastonbury, provide a range of security challenges and given the nature of open spaces, significant difficulties in managing crowds safely have to be overcome. We have to give consideration to the unpredictability of external factors such as weather, behaviour of performers and differing crowd dynamics. Therefore there is no margin for error when supplying such a large volume of these products to festival organisers.”
He continues: “We have been supplying temporary fencing to Glastonbury for a number of years and were delighted to work with the organisers again. We have a strong track record in supplying security fencing to many well know sites and this expertise stands us in excellent stead for Glastonbury 2009.”
Beaver 84 won the contract to supply the temporary fencing and crowd control barriers to Glastonbury as their products are the best on the market. For example, the temporary panels Smartweld corner joints are proven to be 72 per cent stronger than other versions on the market, gained through the type of welding used on the fences panels. The company also had the logistical expertise to be able to deliver what the client needed exactly when and where they needed it.
