SCP Relocates National Headquarters to Fishponds, Bristol
Specialist Construction Products (SCP), one of the UK’s largest suppliers of specialist construction materials, has relocated its headquarters to Fishponds in Bristol. SCP is part of the international construction products supplier SIG, and the move to Bristol supports the division’s impressive growth, since it was created in 2004.
SCP’s move from Cardiff to Bristol means that supplier is in a stronger position to provide an excellent service to key construction markets in the South West, the Midlands and beyond.
The move brings in excess of 40 jobs to Fishponds, a key regeneration zone of Bristol, with the possibility of more to follow. The headquarters covers around 50,000 sq. feet and has the capacity to be extended. The facility also includes a trade counter for construction workers to drop in and purchase the products they need.
Five of SCP’s businesses, Support Site, Blueprint, BBM, Kem Edwards and VJ Technology operate from the site, supplying specialised construction products to major contractors, specialist sub contractors as well as builders merchants. The vast range of specialised products includes concrete repair materials, masonry components, ground engineering products, specialist fixings, power tools and more. The company prides itself on offering industry-leading expertise and advice with everything it supplies to ensure that the correct product is delivered to a building site on time. |

Mark Tomlin, Managing Director of SCP says: “It’s a really exciting time for SCP. The office move provides us with space we need to continue our strong growth in the industry. We pride ourselves on delivering the highest level of customer service as well as offering expert knowledge on all the products we supply.”
He added: “We’ve seen turnover increases year on year and in 2008 we are aiming for around £250 million, demonstrating that the expertise we offer to customers is highly regarded by our customers.”
The specialist construction materials suppliers’ Managing Director, Mark Tomlin, a former captain of Bristol Rugby Club in the 1980s, is moving with the company, back to his home town. During his career, he led Bristol Rugby Club to a 28-22 victory over Leicester in the John Player Cup in 1983.
